I am currently studying at Massey University in Palmerston North so will only be available on weekends unless on Semester Breaks and will update those as they come around.I have experience drenching, drying off, have reared my own calves but not on the dairy farm.I have worked on the calving pad during calving. Have done winter feeding, Can drive a tractor and feed out(may need refresher). I am a fast learner so willing to try new things if needed. Have used protrac in a 54 bale rotary automatic cup removers and automatic washer. Can identify Mastitus and Clinical Mastitus and treat accordingly.

I was bought up on a dairy farm in Geraldine, so i worked in my free weekends and holidays. I am capable of most work on the farm fences, washing vat and plant as well as starting plant. I have done a fair amount of calf rearing. Because i have been at school i havent done a whole season but i will quiet happily be left on my own to do the calf rearing when i am needed. I interested to learn more. I have references for two different farms in the Geraldine Area. Needed also 2 months calving season work! I have a male friend Jeroen that attends a Dutch agricultural school in Holland, he has completed 2 out of 4 years. He is 19 years old and is a very capable and hard working person. He worked for my parents for 3 months over calving season in 2009. He enjoyed it so much that he is coming back at the beginning of july til end august. He is trying to find work in the Palmerston North area, it is only short time but unfortunately that is all the time off his school would allow. He can do all the feeding out, he has very good tractor skills, milking, fencing etc. Would be a good farm assistant to lift the work load over those two busy months. He would need accomodation and it is unlikely that he will have a vehicle. If you are interested in him i can send a C.V and give you his details. I am looking for more Relief Milking, preferably not far from home, but open to consider any milking offer. I am not a student. I have worked 31/2 years as an Assistant Relief Milker, with cow herds ranging from 240 cows through to 1600 cows. I have no problem working at short notice (so long as available), even if only one milking, i.e. extra person needed for herd testing, person attending a funeral, etc. I can provide some phone or written references, and can do one free milking - no obligation to \\\\hire\\\\ or pay. AT PRESENT I DO HAVE SOME PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES: 1) All Monday and Tuesday mornings (farm in Tararua district), and 2) All Wednesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons (large herd - Sth Manawatu - help keep me fit!). Also \\\\on-call\\\\ every 3rd weekend as a Relief Milker near Rangiotu. (In future, could be open to a full time milking job / possibly calf rearer, if one became available and I can live on PNBHS bus route.)
